Midwife.
Bodyworker.
Yoga Instructor.

I have always been drawn to working with and advocating for women. Midwifery became a passion after witnessing how women were treated during pregnancy, in birth and as mothers.

Despite being incredibly well cared for during my first pregnancy, my experience of labour and birth was incredibly physically demanding - it was a long, stop/start labour in which despite strong contractions my baby was unable to move down. My subsequent labour for my second baby was really no different and many aspects of my care took a significant physical and emotional toll.

Believing there had to be an unknown element I was led to the discipline of bodywork - a gentle approach working to bring the body into alignment and facilitae birth. I have completed trainings in Optimal Maternal Positioning, Spinning Babies, and Pelvic Balancing. I am also a yoga practitioner and qualified Yoga Instructor.

In 2021 I had my third baby. At this time I developed a yoga practice with specially chosen physical postures designed to protect pelvic structures and bring softness and flexiblity in key locations to facilitate birth. My midwife and I taught my husband ligament and fasica releases to care for me during pregnancy. My third baby was born after an intense but short labour at home. I felt emotionally free and recovered easily. Yoga and Bodywork for Birth is born from my desire to share a physical and spiritual practice during pregnancy to transition into motherhood.
